We are entering the home stretch of the boys' basketball and dance seasons. If you have not taken the opportunity to watch our 7th and 8th grade dance teams perform, don't miss out on your last chance on the 3rd. Mrs. Jeffery and the girls have been working extremely hard and the girls are performing at a very high level. They truly are grace in motion.

I know it's hard to believe, but the 2nd trimester ended on Friday. Our students will be celebrating their success and building community next Friday during an assembly. As we work through a school year, it's important to take the time to recognize all of the great things our students do. It can be easy to fall into the trap of popular culture to characterize the middle school years as something to endure and survive. My experiences with the amazing students we have at SMS suggest that the middle school years are something to embrace, celebrate, and cherish. Our kids are awesome and thank you for sending them to us each day.
