Next week is a busy week as we conclude the girls basketball and wrestling seasons.  Only those boys basketball players who have not taken the ImPact test this year need to test on Thursday.

Upcoming SMS Events

Below are the upcoming SMS activities for next week.  The girls basketball games on Saturday the 14th are additions from the original schedule.

At this time of year we are at the mercy of the weather at times. As a school, student safety is our number one priority.  Events may have to be postponed or canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions.  We will do our best to share cancellations with you as promptly as possible.  If you are wondering about the status of a particular event, a good place to start is the online events calendar.  Also, check this blog and my Twitter feed (@ODeaSMS).  Remember, if we have an early release or cancellation of school, there will be no activities (practice or competition) that night.

Wrestling Tournament Canceled

Due to the weather and road conditions, the wrestling tournament scheduled for today has been canceled.  It will not be rescheduled.

SMS Happenings 12/2/13-12/7/13

It looks to be another busy week at SMS.  Wrestling has an exceptionally busy week and the girls basketball teams will playing in the Cartwright Tournament.  The 7th grade girls teams play on Friday and the 8th grade girls are in action on Saturday.

As per handbook guidelines, due to the beginning of the second trimester, we will be checking eligibility again this Friday for the week beginning on 12/9/13.  Grades are not checked during the first week of each trimester.

We still need a couple of people willing to help out taking tickets for our home wrestling tournament this Tuesday from 3:30-6:00 at the high school and to assist with concessions on Tuesday, December 10th from 3:45-5:45 at the middle school.  Please contact me at 717-1215 or kodea@spearfish.k12.sd.us if you can help.
