Currently three activities are underway at SMS. Boys basketball, dance, and drama all began immediately after the holiday break. Practices and rehearsals are in full swing. Speaking of schedule changes, there are already changes to the 8th grade boys basketball schedule. Belle Fourche does not have as many experienced 8th grade boys out as we do. In an attempt to provide the best match ups possible, the 8th grade Maroon game versus Belle Fourche scheduled for February 20th will not be played. The 8th White team will play two games in Belle Fourche on that day. The 8th grade game versus Lead on February 3rd has been switched to a Maroon game to compensate for the loss of the Belle Fourche game. The 7th grade schedule remains unchanged at this time.
We have a lot of students participating in activities right now, which is great. Our numbers do require us to be flexible with scheduling at times to provide the most appropriate opportunities for our students as the surrounding schools do not have as many students participating in activities as we do.
